Purpose:
The Non‑Discrimination Policy ensures that all individuals have equal access to the Welding Foundations & Industrial Safety program. FORGE is committed to providing a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment free from discrimination, harassment, and bias. This policy complies with Washington State private vocational school regulations and federal civil rights laws.
Equal Opportunity Statement
FORGE Vocational Training Foundation does not discriminate on the basis of:

- Color

This applies to admissions, training, access to facilities, services, and all school‑related activities.
Access to Training
All qualified applicants and enrolled students have equal access to:
- Classroom instruction
- Welding booths and shop equipment
- Safety training
- Student support services
- Evaluations and progress reviews
- Certificates of completion (upon meeting requirements)
No student will be denied participation based on a protected characteristic.
Reasonable Accommodations
Harassment and Discriminatory Conduct
FORGE will provide reasonable accommodations for students with documented disabilities, as long as the accommodation:
- Does not compromise safety
- Does not fundamentally alter the nature of the training
- Does not place undue burden on the school
- Is compatible with welding shop requirements
Examples may include modified seating, extended time for written materials, or alternative formats for instructional content.
Accommodations cannot include altering essential safety requirements or welding competencies.
FORGE maintains a zero‑tolerance policy for:
- Harassment
- Bullying
- Discriminatory remarks
- Intimidation
- Retaliation
- Hostile behavior based on protected status
Any student engaging in such conduct may face disciplinary action, up to and including immediate dismissal.
Reporting Discrimination
Non‑Retaliation
Students who believe they have experienced discrimination or harassment may:
- Report the concern directly to the instructor
- Submit a written complaint to the school administrator
- Use the formal process outlined in the Complaint & Grievance Policy
All reports are handled promptly, professionally, and confidentially
FORGE strictly prohibits retaliation against any student who:
- Reports discrimination or harassment
- Participates in an investigation
- Raises concerns in good faith
Retaliation is a serious violation and may result in disciplinary action.
Instructor and Staff Responsibilities
Tribal and Cultural Respect
All instructors and staff are responsible for:
- Maintaining an inclusive, respectful environment
- Addressing inappropriate behavior immediately
- Reporting discrimination or harassment to administration
- Modeling professional conduct at all times
FORGE honors the cultural identities and traditions of Tribal students and families.
Respect for cultural practices, values, and community relationships is expected from all students and staff.

Students receive a copy during enrollment.
