Job Placement Disclosure

Purpose:

The Job Placement Disclosure ensures that students understand the role of FORGE Vocational Training Foundation in supporting their career goals. Washington State requires private vocational schools to clearly state that they do not guarantee employment. This policy promotes transparency, honesty, and realistic expectations.

Required Disclosure

As required by Washington State private vocational school regulations:

FORGE Vocational Training Institute does not guarantee employment or job placement.

No instructor, staff member, or representative of the school may promise or imply that a student will obtain a job as a result of completing the program.

What FORGE Does Provide

While FORGE does not guarantee employment, the school supports students by providing:

  • High‑quality, hands‑on welding training
  • OSHA‑10 General Industry certification
  • Instruction in safe shop practices and industry expectations
  • Guidance on building foundational welding skills
  • Professional conduct coaching
  • Letters of training verification upon request
  • Referrals to community partners, Tribal programs, or employers when appropriate

These supports help students prepare for employment but do not guarantee it.

What FORGE Does Not Provide

Student Responsibility

FORGE does not:

  • Promise or guarantee job placement
  • Secure employment on behalf of students
  • Negotiate jobs, wages, or hiring decisions
  • Represent that completion of the program ensures employment
  • Provide formal job placement services unless required by a partner agency

Employment decisions are made solely by employers.

Students are responsible for:

  • Applying for jobs
  • Preparing résumés or work histories
  • Attending interviews
  • Meeting employer requirements
  • Passing any required background checks or drug tests
  • Demonstrating professionalism and reliability

FORGE provides training and support, but students must take an active role in their job search.

Employer and Agency Discretion

Certificate of Completion

Employers, unions, apprenticeship programs, and workforce agencies may consider:

  • Skill level
  • Safety record
  • Attendance history
  • Conduct and professionalism
  • Background checks
  • Drug testing
  • Physical ability to perform job tasks

FORGE cannot influence or override employer hiring decisions.

Students who meet all graduation requirements receive a Certificate of Completion, which verifies:

  • Total hours completed
  • Welding processes trained
  • OSHA‑10 completion
  • Competencies demonstrated

This certificate documents training but does not guarantee employment.

No Implied Promises

No verbal statements, suggestions, or encouragement from staff or instructors should be interpreted as a job guarantee.
Any such promises are unauthorized and invalid.
