Admission Policy
Purpose:
The Admission Policy ensures that all students entering the Welding Foundations & Industrial Safety program are prepared to participate safely, meet program expectations, and benefit from hands‑on vocational training. This policy protects students, instructors, and the integrity of the program.
Eligibility Requirements
To be admitted to FORGE Vocational Training Foundation, applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:
- Age Requirement: Applicants must be 18 years of age or older by the first day of training.
- Identification: Valid government‑issued photo ID is required.
- Education: A high school diploma, GED, or equivalent is recommended but not required unless specified by a referring agency.
- Physical Readiness: Students must be able to safely participate in welding activities, including standing for extended periods, wearing PPE, and working in a shop environment.
- Safety Readiness: Students must demonstrate the ability to follow verbal and written safety instructions.
Application Process
Applicants must complete the following steps:
- Submit an application (online or in person).
- Participate in an orientation or intake meeting to review program expectations.
- Sign required enrollment documents, including acknowledgment of safety rules and program policies.
- Provide any required agency paperwork, if referred by DOC, Tribal programs, or workforce partners.
Admission is not guaranteed and is based on safety, readiness, and space availability.
Conditions for Denial of Admission
Re-Application
FORGE may deny admission to applicants who:
- Demonstrate an inability or unwillingness to follow safety instructions
- Exhibit behavior that may pose a risk to themselves or others
- Provide false or incomplete information during the application process
- Have unresolved conduct issues from prior enrollment
- Attempt to enroll for purposes inconsistent with training (e.g., misuse of equipment, disruptive intent)
Denial decisions are made to protect the safety and integrity of the training environment.
Applicants who were denied admission may reapply after addressing the reason for denial. Re‑application does not guarantee acceptance

Non‑Discrimination
A student is considered officially enrolled only after:
- All required documents are completed
- Tuition arrangements are confirmed
- The student attends the first day of training
